Terms of sale
These terms govern the sale of used motor vehicles by Ask Auto Zone to consumers (business buyers should ask for our B2B terms). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
1. Vehicle description
We describe each vehicle honestly and to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing. Where known, faults are disclosed up front. Photographs are of the actual vehicle — we do not use stock imagery to represent real stock.
2. Reservation + deposit
To reserve a vehicle we ask for a refundable deposit of £200. The deposit is fully refundable if (a) the vehicle is not as described when inspected, (b) finance is declined through no fault of yours, or (c) you change your mind within 48 hours of paying the deposit. After 48 hours the deposit becomes non-refundable if you walk away for reasons unrelated to the vehicle's condition.
3. Pre-delivery inspection
Every vehicle undergoes our 60-point pre-delivery inspection before handover. A copy of the checklist is included with the sale documents.
4. Warranty
Every vehicle leaves us with a 3-month mechanical warranty as standard. Upgraded plans (12, 24, 36 months) are available — see warranty options. Warranty does not cover wear items (brake pads, tyres, wipers, bulbs) unless they fail the MOT at point of sale.
5. 14-day peace of mind
If within 14 days of collection the vehicle is not as described or develops a fault we should have disclosed, we will refund in full or repair at our cost — at your choice. This is in addition to your statutory rights.
6. Part-exchange
Indicative valuations are subject to physical inspection. The final figure is agreed in writing before handover. If outstanding finance is owed against your part-exchange, we will settle it directly with the lender using the balance of the sale proceeds.
7. Finance
Ask Auto Zone is not a lender and does not broker credit directly. We can introduce you to our panel of third-party lenders. Any finance agreement is between you and the lender — Ask Auto Zone is not party to it.
8. Delivery
Delivery dates are estimates. We will keep you informed of progress. The vehicle remains our property until paid for in full. Risk passes to you on collection or on delivery to your nominated address, whichever is first.
9. Statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the short-term right to reject the vehicle within 30 days if it is faulty. After 30 days we have one opportunity to repair before your right to a replacement or refund applies. These rights apply regardless of what is stated in this document.
10. Complaints
If you have a complaint, email info@askautozone.co.uk. We'll acknowledge within 2 working days and reply substantively within 10. Unresolved complaints can be escalated to The Motor Ombudsman (themotorombudsman.org).
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
